On behalf of the EHPA Board, it's with immense pride that I announce Environmental Health Professionals Australia's (EHPA) acceptance as an Associate Member of the International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH).
This is more than just a membership; it's a recognition of EHPA's role as the pinnacle organisation representing environmental health officers in Victoria. Being part of IFEH connects us to a global network of 40 countries and over 60,000 members focused on myriad environmental health challenges.
Broadening Our Scope
IFEH is a dynamic federation that addresses various environmental health topics—from climate change to food safety, water quality, and waste management. Its activities and initiatives resonate well with EHPA’s mission and values, offering a broad platform to exchange best practices, research findings, and innovative solutions.
Benefits for EHPA and Members
Joining IFEH opens doors to various resources and opportunities for our organisation as well as individual members. Specifically, we foresee the potential for:
Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Another promising aspect of this affiliation is the opportunity it presents for EHPA’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs). IFEH has its own SIGs covering areas like air pollution, waste management, and many more, offering our members avenues to delve deeper into their areas of expertise.
We are still in the early stages of exploring the full range of benefits this partnership can offer. Rest assured, we will keep you updated as we solidify plans and initiatives.
Thank you for being a part of this exciting journey. Together, we can look forward to a future filled with greater influence, reach, and impact in the realm of environmental health.
Best regards,
Mel Wilson
President, EHPA
