About EHPA Membership

 

Member

Eligibility:

A person who has completed undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications/majors in public and/or environmental health or a related field including environmental medicine, noise & acoustics, environmental studies, food technology, sustainability or other related field and who have an interest in, or practice in environmental health.

Conditions

Must provide proof of completed studies with their membership application. Admission is on condition that the applicant undertakes continuous professional development and agrees to abide by the Constitution, By-Laws and policies of the EHPA.

Membership Fee:

$424 per financial year

 

Associate Member

Eligibility:

A person with a qualification other than those qualifications providing eligibility for Member Class, including technical officers. A person with a VET qualification at the Certificate IV or above level in environmental health-related areas, including food technology, local government regulation, wastewater technology or sustainability. A person working as an Environmental Health Technical Officer.  A Cadet Environmental Health Officer with three or more years of experience. A person with an interest in Environmental Health without the above qualifications who can demonstrate their commitment to the field of Environmental Health.

Conditions

Must provide proof of completed studies with their membership application. Cadets must provide confirmation of employment as a Cadet, number of years employed and proof of enrolment in a recognised Environmental Health Degree or equivalent. Must have successfully completed all first-year subjects. Admission is on condition that the applicant undertakes continuous professional development and agrees to abide by the Constitution, By-Laws and policies of the EHPA.

Membership Fee:

$424 per financial year

 

Corporate Member

Eligibility:

Corporate Membership is divided into 4 sub-classes, as described below:
  • Corporate Level 1 – Up to 5 members per organisation
  • Corporate Level 2 –  6 - 10 members per organisation
  • Corporate Level 3 - 11- 20 members per organisation
  • Corporate level 4 - Over 20 members per organisation

1 vote

Benefits & Entitlements:

  • Newsletters, Website Access, Journal of Environmental Health
  • Member rates for the first 5 registrations at all conferences and workshops
  • Participation at networks, committees, seminar/conference organisation & special interest groups
  • Eligible to join the CPD program and the CPEH scheme

Conditions

Votes may only be cast by the nominated person on the membership application. All corporate members must be able to demonstrate a contribution to environmental health policy or practice and undertake to promote the objectives of EHPA.

Corporate members are not eligible to use the post-nominal’s

Membership Fee:

Per organisation: Corporate 1:  1-5 members  $2010    Corporate 2:  6-10 members  $3342      Corporate 3:  11-20 members  $4455          Corporate 4: over 20 members $5575  (inc GST)

 

Graduate Member

Eligibility:

Has completed a qualification as defined within the eligibility section of the Associate Member or Member class. Has completed the above qualification within the past 12 months.

  • Attendance at all conferences and workshops at member rates
  • Ability to fill any office bearer positions
  • Participation at networks, committees, seminar/conference organisation & special interest groups May use the post-nominal MEHA

  • Reduced membership fee (50%)

Conditions

Access to this membership class is for a maximum of 2 consecutive years before advancement to Associate Member or Member. Admission is on condition that the applicant undertakes continuous professional development and agrees to abide by the Constitution, By-Laws and policies of the EHPA.

Notes:

The intention of this class to provide a less expensive form of membership for recent graduates who may be struggling financially.

Membership Fee:

$222 per financial year

 

Student Member

Eligibility:

Must be undertaking an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Environmental Health/Public Health or a related field.  Cadet Environmental Health Officers with less than 3 years of experience are also eligible for Student Membership.

Conditions

Must not be undertaking full-time employment (except Cadet Environmental Health Officers). May only access student member class once. Proof of student enrolment must be provided on application to this membership class.

Fellow

  • Fellow $424
  • Honorary Fellow No fee
  • Life Fellow No fee

 

Part - Time Member

Eligibility:

Has been a financial member for a minimum of 2 years within the class of an Associate Member, Member, Fellow, Life Fellow or Honorary Fellow.

Voting Rights:

1 vote

  • Attendance at all conferences and workshops at member rates
  • Ability to fill any office bearer positions
  • Participation at networks, committees, seminar/conference organisation & special interest groups
  • May use the post-nominal associates with their normal class of membership
  • Access to Continuing Professional Development Program
  • Reduced membership fee (60%)

Conditions

Must provide documentation from employer on part-time status and include rate of effective full time, i.e.0.8 EFT (4 days per week).

Membership Fee:

$290 per financial year

 

Retired Member

Eligibility:

Has been a financial member for a minimum of 10 years within the class of an Associate Member, Member, Fellow, Life Fellow or Honorary Fellow.

Voting Rights:

1 vote

  • Participation at networks and special interest groups

Conditions

Must not be participating in full time employment

Membership Fee:

 $72 per financial year
