Position Summary Salary from $80,352* to $90,062* plus 9.5% Superannuation
Multiple Permanent opportunities Max Term Contract up until 30 June 2021 *
Salary is inclusive of a $3000 above award payment.

How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
In the role of Environmental Health Officer for the City of Melbourne, you will play a pivotal part within the Health and Wellbeing team that is proactive, responsible and effective in maintaining and delivering professional high quality customer service in the public and environmental health space.
You will be required to administer responsibilities under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008, Food Act 1984 and other public health legislation, together with Branch and Corporate policies in order to meet desired outcomes.
Furthermore you will assist in the formulation of specific Branch policies and participate in the implementation and creation of relevant projects so as to provide a more pro-active approach towards public health and environmental issues.
This role does require you to work non-standard hours as required and you will require a current Victorian driver’s licence.

Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent including eligibility to be a member of Environmental Health Australia.
Proven ability to work as an effective team member, input into team processes, actively and positively contributes to team goals, and demonstrates positive behaviours and attitudes within the team environment. Demonstrated ability to apply relevant legislation and corporate procedures and policies.
High level understanding of customer service principles and practice, and demonstrated ability to apply those principles to internal and external customer interaction.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with all levels of staff, the general public, and commercial and professional stakeholders.
Working knowledge of computer office systems and packages.
Proven ability to work in a time pressured environment, meeting multiple deadlines with a high level of initiative, motivation and innovation.
Ability to work non-standard hours as required.
